ALEX BURROWS

Journalist and writer Alex Burrows lives in Oxfordshire and works in London as Managing Editor for the rock magazine Metal Hammer. His publishing career began with Arnie, a comics and punk music zine which he co-published with artist Simon Gane. He has also written for Total Guitar, T3 and Classic Rock magazines and contributed to the book Anarchy In The UK – The Stories Behind The Anthems Of Punk. “The Shadow Over Innsmouth” is Alex’s first work for Graphic Classics. “Adapting Lovecraft’s story was tough but hugely rewarding,” says Alex. “Quite appropriately, I worked on it during late nights at the start of 2006 — a particularly long and bitter winter in the UK. While adapting the scene when the narrator is in his hotel room, I heard an almighty crash from the next room, and I practically jumped out of my skin. Something had been knocked over by my wife, whom I thought had gone to bed long before.”
