ANTON EMDIN

Anton is a freelance illustrator living and working in Sydney, Australia. Since finishing his Fine Art degree in 1997 (“I learned a hell of a lot about drinking beer”) his work has been featured in many major publications, as well as appearing in exhibitions and books both in Australia and abroad. His influences include early Mad artists Will Elder, Harvey Kurtzman, and Jack Davis, and contemporary comic book legends Charles Burns, Kaz, Peter Bagge and Dave Cooper. Anton is heavily involved in the Australian underground comix scene, and publishes his own title, Cruel World, a collection of offbeat strips and stories about “love, death, gap-toothed girls and squirrels.” You can see Anton’s work online at www.antongraphics.com.
