EVERT GERADTS

Evert Geradts is a Dutch comics artist living in Toulouse, France. One of the founders of the Dutch underground comix scene, he started the influential magazine Tante Leny Presents, in which appeared his first Sailears & Susie stories. He is a disciple of Carl Barks, whom he names “the Aesop of the 20th century.” Over the years Geradts has written about a thousand stories for Dutch comics of Donald Duck and other Disney characters. He also writes stories for the popular comic series Sjors & Sjimmie and De Muziekbuurters. He now does all his art on computer, developing the supple vector style he applies to his “kids in space” series Kos & Mo. “All my life I have been waiting for the arrival of personal computers with good illustration programs,” says Evert. “Adobe Illustrator and my Mac have set me free from the traditional drawing style where the obligatory black outline was always the frontier between color and form.”

Evert’s work appears in Graphic Classics: Ambrose Bierce, Graphic Classics: Bram Stoker, Graphic Classics: Edgar Allan Poe, Graphic Classics: Robert Louis Stevenson and Fantasy Classics. You can check out the latest adventures of Kos & Mo at www.kos-mo.com.
