M.K. BROWN
Mary K. Browns 1972-1981 work in National Lampoon first brought her public notice. Her cartoons and illustrations have also appeared in Playboy, Atlantic Monthly, Mother Jones, The New Yorker, Arcade, Young Lust and Wimmins Comics. She has been included in The Big Book Of New American Humor, Twisted Sisters, The New Yorker 75th Anniversary Collection and numerous other anthologies. Her hilarious Dr. Janice N!Godatu animated shorts alternated with the original Simpsons episodes on The Tracey Ullman Show in 1987. MK has written and illustrated several children's books. Her first, Let's Go Swimming With Mr. Sillypants, received the Junior Literary Guild Award and was featured on Reading Rainbow. This was followed by Sallys Room and Lets Go Camping with Mr. Sillypants (1995, Crown Publishers). Current projects include Jackknife Your Big Rig, a cartoon collection, and an illustrated novelette called Wolf Boy. Of her story in Graphic Classics: H.G. Wells, MK says, "Contributing to Graphic Classics has been as much a pleasure as drawing Pyecraft stuck on the ceiling was a challenge."
