JOHN W. PIERARD

John Pierard has had a varied career in illustration. After leaving the bosom of his beloved Syracuse University for New York City, he immediately found work in publications such as Screw and Velvet Touch Magazine, where he illustrated stories like Sex Junky. In a major departure, he graduated to illustrating children’s fiction including Mel Gilden’s P.S. 13 series, and various projects written and edited by noted children’s author Bruce Coville. He has worked for Marvel Comics, Asimov’s Magazine, Manhattan's Lincoln Center, and has most recently illustrated lavish editions of classic children’s books for Greenwich Press. He currently resides in upper Manhattan and has exhibited his art in New York galleries.

John illustrated The Francis Spaight, a horror story based on a true incident for Graphic Classics: Jack London, a chapter from Dracula for Graphic Classics: Bram Stoker, and The Monkey's Paw for Horror Classics. He is now working on an adaptation of Captain Sharkey, a pirate tale, for the revised edition of Graphic Classics: Arthur Conan Doyle.
