LANCE TOOKS

As an animator for fifteen years, as well as a comics artist, Lance Tooks’ work has appeared in more than a hundred television commercials, films and music videos. He has self-published the comic books Danger Funnies, Divided by Infinity and Muthafucka. His stories have appeared in Zuzu, Shade, Vibe, Girltalk, World War 3 Illustrated, Floaters, Pure Friction, the Italian magazine Lupo Alberto, Graphic Classics: Ambrose Bierce, Graphic Classics: Edgar Allan Poe, Graphic Classics: Mark Twain, Graphic Classics: Robert Louis Stevenson and Fantasy Classics. He also illustrated The Black Panthers for Beginners, written by Herb Boyd. Lance’s first graphic novel, Narcissa (Doubleday, 2002) was named one of the best books of 2002 by Publisher’s Weekly, and he has recently completed his Lucifer’s Garden of Verses series for NBM ComicsLit. In 2004 Lance moved from his native New York to Madrid, Spain, where he married and has recently finished a Spanish translation of Narcissa.
